Theravada Buddhist Education in Myanmar
Considerable number of Scholarships will be awarded by International Buddhist Missionary University of Yangon in each year for the Monks, Nuns and Layman.
According to the instructions of admission to the University, these courses are conducted in English medium and other facilities like tuition fees, accommodation and meals will be provided on free of charge.
Entrance examination will be held for the foreign students at the end of each year by the Embassy of Myanmar in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The closing date for applications for the Diploma Course is 15th December 2017.

Renovation of Chancery Building the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Yangon
Renovated Chancery building of the Embassy was officially opened by H.E. the Ambassador, Mr. K.W.N.D. Karunaratne with the participation of staff of the Embassy, some Sri Lankan expatriates in Myanmar and invitees on 12th January 2017. The Opening Ceremony commenced at 10.00 a.m. with offering 'sangika dana' to Maha Sanga.
All the participants attended the alms giving ceremony. H.E. the Ambassador emphasized that the cost of Rs. 9.7 million was borne by Sri Lanka Government fund for renovation. He also thanked Central Engineering Consultancy Bureau, the Residential Engineer and local contractors to complete this project successfully.
